Act hero

W's hand got injured when 2 tyre rims squashed against his left palm. The flesh was literally coming off n I was literally freaking out when he showed me soooooo casually.

I insisted he see the dr.
He insisted he is ok.
I insisted we go to the pharmacist.
He insisted I'm kicking up a big fuss.
So we argued over what to buy to treat this old hero's hand.
Then we came home, he washed up n we dressed his wound.
ANDDDDD..... HE WINCED!

See! Act man! Act hero! Ask u see dr u dun want la. Dab iodine into the wound. Hard.

Irritants

Some ppl just need to learn to stay out of other ppls lives and ears!
Sent pxb for grooming at the nearby mall. And left him there since its gonna take abt 2hrs. The irritating mil has to keep asking where's he, take so long one meh? Then she decided to arrange her dinner with her sister at the mall to check on pxb. And call me to report on him. Then I told her its ok just let him be n I'll bring him back shortly. As if that's not enough, she has to wait til the shop is done n get the owner to call me n insist I bring him back!
Fuck! No! Stop being an irritant n leave me to do my own planning!
I hate it when she chooses to interfere with every aspect! Angry!

Disappointed yet again

Saw a unit yesterday n arranged for viewing today. However owner is unable to make it n originally scheduled it for wed instead. Today the buyer agent tried to reach me to inform of someone having made an offer and whether I'm interested to bid. As I was busy with work, by the time I checked my phone, it was too late. Sold. For 2k below what we had wanted to offer. Sigh. Disappointed yet again. Why is it so diff to locate that dream house?

Property hunting

Been really busy (excuse for lazy) recently. My bro's a property agent but he's very busy (genuinely making a living) nowadays. So I took it upon myself to property hunt. So other than work hours, I've been spending all my travelling time and sacrificing sleep time to lookup. Very very very busy (really tedious and double hard work for someone who know nuts abt property) researching.
Went for a viewing last Sunday. A maisonette. 157sqm. Huge and spacious and well renovated. Move in condition with minimal touchup. Located within 10min waking distance of train station. Established estate with more than 10coffeeshops, wet market, 2 supermarkets within 5min waking distance. Corner unit. High floor. Unblocked. Greenery view. 3bedroom+1study. Valuation 620k. PERFECT RIGHT?! Cov asking for min 100k!!!!!!!!!!!!! Faint! With 100k, I can easily afford a condo. The last offer was 80k and the owner turned it down. Sigh! Major disappointment!

Time mgmt

I have this staff H who just started on her part time degree. Whilst I understand it's not easy to juggle both work n part time studies, having signed up for the degree should prep her that she must be committed n plan her time wisely.
Just recd a SMS from her. It read: "Morning ... I'm still doing my assignment due noon. I need another 2 hour to reach to office . Can I request for urgent 2 hour off at least. Cause S insist not to give me"
Honestly, what is she expecting? This SMS came at 7.40am. If I tell her no, do u think she is still in time for work? (she lives in woodlands n is expected to report for work at 8.30am).
So bird.

Appraisal

The whole appraisal thing gives me mixed feelings. It is supposed to sum up one's performance for the entire year. Yet I've seen some assessors who do not put much effort into reviewing their staff's performance for the last year. Hence the appraisal has not been accurately n fairly written. This assessor K in particular spent half an hour to sum up one whole year of performance by her staff. N it was not based on K's observation but based on the staff's input to her. So the appraisal went pretty much like, "you have not met your kpi 5times this year so pls work to
Improve on your performance.". Huh? Appraisal is not abt looking at one aspect but the overall performance of your staff. So a 3rd party looking at this year will not have a full picture reading K's assessment of her staff. I pity her staff.

I've seen some ppl, who no matter how hard they try, will fail due to some reasons. The mgmt may be biased, misunderstand or have past "grudges" agst a staff. So no matter what he does, it's simply not good enough.

I had mine today. It was pretty fair though. N I'm fairly pleased with the ratings and reviews given. But then again, I consider myself lucky to be reporting to a fair unbiased manager who puts effort into reviewing my work.
Luck or life? Dunno.

过大礼

Went to buy our 过大礼 items today. Seems like 101 things to do n all sounds senseless to me.



Previously we went to order cakes for 过大礼.


My family needed 12 boxes in all. N W's mum asked for 12 boxes. I learnt from B after I ordered and reconfirmed today with the lady selling the 过大礼 items that the cakes are meant for brides. Not groom's family.

W got fed up with his mum n called her to ask who told her that the groom needed it. Ended up his mum din know n wanted for the sake of wanting. So she may share with her colleagues. This got W real mad. It's like dunno then dun act like u know. N worst part make us do everything ur way. Do for the sake of doing without knowing why. It makes me real unhappy.

If u can gimme a good reason for doing things a certain way, I will do it. But dun dictate n dictate all the wrong things. Not only waste $, waste time, waste energy, also causes so much friction between us. Damn it.

Made up my mind

Okay I've made up my mind to ignore everything the MIL does.

Yes it's upsetting to have her insist things her way, indecisive n keeps harping over the same issues, and buying a similar gown as mine.

But I will ignore her. I made up my mind. It's W n my big day. Why should I care abt things I can't control? Rather I will ignore her n her antics n carry on with things that I wanna do. Anything she tells me n I dun wanna know too much, I'll play dumb. Anything she command us to do, I'll just do the bare minimal. Anything unreasonable, I'll leave W to deal with her.

So now countdown to big day and after that, to getting our own place!

Inconsiderate

Today has gotta be the most ridiculous day in my life.

First someone borrowed my office desk yesterday (I was on leave) n made a total mess out of it. So 1st thing that greeted me in office was my pissed-me-off mess on my table n I had to clear up after him.

Then an escalated call over a stupid customer with a stupid issue.

Then someone changed lunch slot with me n disrupted all my lunch plans, only to have a looooong lunch herself.

Then non stop ppl asking me non stop questions. When I say I feel like an encyopedia, trust me. I have ppl literally queuing up to ask me questions.

Ok finally day is over n the hungry n tired me travelled all the way to W's office to meet him. Only for him to announce that he has to do some last minute mass shopping for his office for 7th month offerings. N when I say mass shopping, it's really mass shopping. We actually filled 3 huge shopping carts n bought $800+ worth of grocery from 9-11pm. No dinner yet. N we jammed up the cashier queue for half an hour.

Then my MIL announced that she bought her gown to attend our wedding dinner. She said n i quote, "it looks like yours. Similar blue with similar black lace. Looks like yours lor". My blood pressure went up immediately. It's my wedding. I'm the bride n I get someone who copycats my gown!!!!!!!!!

Then finally dinner, or rather supper at 11.30pm. W described our national day date n her question was "why din u bring me along?". Which part of date do you NOT understand?!?!

N I come home to find the toothpaste my bro n I were sharing gone!! Simply cos he brought it along with him on his trip.

N to top everything off, I'm having this super bad menstrual cramp now.

Ok, I'm irritated beyond words. I'm gonna sleep!

Too bad

I'm Rebellious by nature. Force me to do something n I'll resist like hell. Play nice n I may play along.

Boss

Unsure what u guys think but I'll prefer a male boss anytime over a female one. Not that we can whine to get our way but male bosses tend to be more objective compared to female bosses who tend to be more emotional.

My dept is 90% female. My boss is a female. My boss's boss is also a female. On many occasions, I've seen them flaring up over little things simply because they r in a bad mood. Black face, slam desk, talk loudly n rudely. Even amongst my peers, we have a few female TLs n 2 male TLs. The guys r those who remain cool, no matter what. The females r usually the ones who crack under pressure.

Why this topic is because my boss is trying to rid one of my staff (let's call him T) n because she's unable to manage the situation, she takes it out upon me. The latest incident happened this morning.

We have this routine one-on-one monthly coaching n review thing. Since the mgmt wants to rid T (long story spanning 10 years), there's this ultimatum given to him. But as he was not performing up to mark, he's been asked to leave. Why I'm involved is because my boss dumped T on me. Even though T n I had our differences, we managed to sort our differences n found this respect for each other.

Now problem is I get stuck in between for the top wants to rid him n he, of course, has no intention to leave. N I'm tasked with the holy duty of tracking his performance n documenting it, then putting onto paper n going through with him month after month. He will then revert with his comments n we'll close the case for the month.

Now problem today is he had reached the end of the timeline set for his ultimatum n in the last session, he was told not so indirectly by my boss to leave. So today he put all these into writing against my boss n when I showed it to her, I got hammered. #€<%*;$

Seriously, I'm not siding any party, trying to remain as neutral as possible. But there's no need to take it out on me when u cant manage that situation. Though I'm a female myself, I always try to be as level headed as possible like my male peers. N I think I'm quite successful at that for ppl always comment I appear unfazed no matter what happens.

Female bosses. Take a chill pill la. Sigh. Ridonkeylous.
