Poor pxb

The day started off good! Met the oldest BFF, B today. She made me this necklace as featured below. Through our sec sch days til now, we've always been in n out of DIY phases. N hers is now on accessories. Very pretty!

Ah! Anyway the afternoon was too short before she gotta go off for church, and me back home to prepare to attend a dinner function.

W detected this 2 lumps on pxb's hind paws today n we rushed him to the vet. Turned out to be a paw infection n he had to be put on a cone to avoid him licking the affected paws. Oh man. He threw a ultra big tantrum. Refusing to see anyone in the eye n sulking away in his play pen. I had to attend the dinner. N we had no choice but to leave him at home. Thankfully he got better after we came back n turned back his lively self. We have to guide him on how to eat n drink though. He seem disoriented wearing the cone. We learnt from the vet today that pxb's ancestors used to be warrior dogs. No wonder my boy is sooooooooooo active!




Anyway attended this wedding function. This family is a big client of W's co. My first time being to an Indian-Muslim wedding n I'm very impressed with the details n the traditions. One very unique thing abt this wedding is that they hire chefs/caterers whose food they like to eat n they set up stalls inside this huge tent, D'Marquee at downtown east. Pretty much a buffet free sitting style. Very yummy food. The brother of the groom (he previously graced our wedding dinner but we were too busy to talk to him that day) was telling me that they had 3000 guests in the afternoon n 1000 guests for dinner. Fwah! I had 500 guests for my wedding n I almost died preparing for it. Then I realized this is the 5th wedding in the family n they have already became used to it. The guests size, coordination, 2 weeks celebration leading up to actual day, and all the A class guests (saw lotsa VVIPs). Very impressed. And lastly love the door gift! Crystal bowls imported from Czech republic.

After the pretty nail session, met my mum n bro for some furniture window shopping.
I love this hefele ironing board concept that can be kept in a drawer. I'm abit obsessed over ironing. I love to iron in fact n W made me promise notta iron his jeans. Haahhahahah how funny it is to wear starched jeans. Anyway I love this n I'll see how I can incorporate the built in ironing board to the walk in wardrobe. How convenient it will be then. I can imagine an air-conditioned walk in wardrobe with all my clothes lining up to be ironed. Music playing in the background n me humming tuneless-ly away. Bliss out!




Anyway chanced upon this art gallery where pieces of art go from SGD2k to SGD60k. Dwang!! 60k! Ok I will aspire to be an artist.




Dinner with hubb at Thai express. It's a place where we always go, always look at the same menu, and end up ordering the same thing. Every. Single. Time. I dun even know why we bother to flip through the menu. Hahah. Okay, our usuals. Love the plum soda.




So we were supposed to watch Sherlock Holmes tv series and someone fell aslp while I was bathing. Settling in for a good read. I'm a bookworm. I love reading. Blogs, magazines, fiction. U name it. My fav author gotta be John Grisham. Read every book of his n love the way he crafts the plot. And I have to resist the temptation to cheat halfway and read the last chapter in every book. Bought Stieg Larsson trilogy n gonna start with "the girl with the dragon tattoo". Nitez!

Ambush

Is this nice restaurant at jurong point. Had dinner there last night n tried squid ink pasta for the 1st time! Ya, mountain tortoise I know. But the black ink has been putting me off. Yesterday I decided to give it a go. Since so many ppl are eating it, it can't be thaaaat bad right? Right!




The clam n mussel pot was heavenly when cooked with bacon! Din know I can eat mussels this way.



Mussels was served with fries. U have the option of choosing mashed potatoes too.



W's rosti n chicken n cheese sausage. I'm not a sausage person but nonetheless still yummy.



And my squid ink pasta with baby scallops and fish roe! Whoops!




Got sidetracked by this gal on the bus who kept lamenting over the phone to her friend. "today so suay. No seats. 罚站". N mind you, I've got my earpiece n trusty iPhone music on. Yet I can still hear her. Maybe I should get the Dr Beats headset. Anyway I dunno why ppl like to lament over these petty lil stuff. Life is too meaningful to spend useless time complaining abt useless things.

On my way to a beautiful Saturday. Having my monthly manicure n meeting my mum to shop for our new homes (she got a studio apartment at Clementi casa!).

Manhill Restaurant

is one of our fav restaurants. W literally grew up here since his parents used to bring him here every week.
It's a Cantonese restaurant where we know the old waitress n boss. N they can place our orders without having to ask (since we always order the same).

Secretly loving the me day. Staying at home the whole day lazing away. Doing the corsages for the gals. Maybe I should change my profession n go into something I always like - DIY.


Then rewarding myself with a yummylicious chilli crab dinner.



Today S told me she's pregnant! Omg! So happy for her. Originally I had asked her to be my emcee but she should be heavily pregnant by then. So will get someone else. Nonetheless, feeling happy for her! Whee!

Laksania

Laksa. That's my latest craving. Just this week alone, I've had it twice. Found this shop at nex called laksania. Woo! Yummy! They sell Singapore laksa, Penang laksa, all sorts of laksa. Tried the Singapore one.

Verdict: yummylicious! Will be back for more








And also the other craving: bubble tea. So far 3 times this week! Besides koi, there's also this shop. Also at nex. This wintermelon drink called red green yellow! Nice

Today is one of the days where I dun feel like meeting W and having some "me" time. *contented sigh*

I can't wait for this week to end. Leaving for Bangkok with E this weekend!

Mental note to myself: I must stop procrastinating n get prepared for the wedding.
1. Bridesmaid dresses
2. Bridegroom shirts
3. All the wedding decor n the guest book etc.

I think I better draw up a list n try to buy as much of it in Bangkok as possible. Slightly over 3 months to the big day n nothing is done. *gasps*
