Wedding prep

C acc me on the settle-as-much-as-I-can day. Brought the bird cages for decoration to use as angpow box n decided to customize one whole set of guestbook, ring pillow, wedding pens, matrimonial candles, flower balls. So the solemnization table, reception table is more or less settled. Next up will be the dessert bar which I'll get more stuff nearer to date. The inspiration comes from this.



C suddenly said she Wana learn how to put on fake eyelashes. 打铁趁热！dragged her into this shop n made her buy n put it on immediately. Ah, much better






W finally found this watch! We've been looking around for the longest period of time. It's sold out everywhere n there's no repeat order since this is a limited edition piece. Found one at jurongpoint n it was going for $450! even overpriced city chain was selling only $175 before discount. W managed to get it from his bro's friend who's a watch retailer at $200+. n my brother in law already owns 2 and is acquiring a 3rd one in this series. I think it looks super cool.

I think I'm very lucky to have W. N he to have me. He was horribly late just now. I finished work at 5pm n waited for him til 8.20pm. Of course I got extremely mad. N upset.

I had this plan. Early release today. Rush to 3D to buy his watch. Maybe meet him for dinner somewhere at west area since he works at tuas. Have a nice dinner. Give him the watch. See him happy. Yay right? Wrong.

U see, he normally finishes work late. If he's meeting me, the earliest will be 8pm. If he's not meeting me, he can stay in office til 10pm. So I happily went to buy that watch, feeling very happy abt it. N he said he wanted to meet me cos he wana go see the watch (not knowing I'm buying). N I can't tell him not to come (if not he'll suspect that I bought n it'll spoil the surprise) so I was stuck in that area. Knowing he usually knock off late, I called him at 6.30pm to rush him. N he left office at 7.10pm but got stuck in a jam. I tried to call him many times but there was no answer cos he was on the line with another client. So I was stuck aimless, n alone. Super angry la. N I SMSed him to tell him I'm going home. He saw the SMS n hung up on his customer n called me back. N we had a heated argument over the phone. Fast forward half hour later he reached n we met.

N u can imagine my face is black til~ Me upset cos din go as planned. N he was quite helpless for he made an effort to leave office earlier, got stuck in a jam n stuck on the phone with a client, n still have to coax me.

Whilst I'm angry, I still do recognize his efforts. Ok la. 一人让一步lor. N most of the time, he gives in to me also. We agreed not to meet when I'm on early release in future.

P.S we hardly ever quarrel. This is like the 3rd time I really got angry with him in 3years.

Waiting waiting

I'm sooooo tired today. How I wish it's fri evening now. Then it'll be B's gown selection, my own wedding trial dinner, then on leave for the next whole week n gg BKK with E!

Had my early release claim today at 5pm n went to The Bencoolen to buy watches. This shop called 3D Trading sells amazingly cheap watches. This baby G watch retails at $175 n sells at $89 at 3D.



This seiko watch cost $1150 at city chain n after GSS sale, it costs $880. I got it for W at $780 at 3D



I bought this for $98. Retail price is $140




N all the watches come with at least 1 year warranty.

Yawns. Waiting for W. As usual. Sometimes his work takes him away so much that I feel like an extra. Not that I mind cos I get alot of freedom to meet up with the girls. But on days when I'm meeting him, it's just waiting waiting waiting. 5pm til now n I'm already sick of shopping n walking around aimlessly. Yawns.

Work

Laksania

Laksa. That's my latest craving. Just this week alone, I've had it twice. Found this shop at nex called laksania. Woo! Yummy! They sell Singapore laksa, Penang laksa, all sorts of laksa. Tried the Singapore one.

Verdict: yummylicious! Will be back for more








And also the other craving: bubble tea. So far 3 times this week! Besides koi, there's also this shop. Also at nex. This wintermelon drink called red green yellow! Nice

Boss

Unsure what u guys think but I'll prefer a male boss anytime over a female one. Not that we can whine to get our way but male bosses tend to be more objective compared to female bosses who tend to be more emotional.

My dept is 90% female. My boss is a female. My boss's boss is also a female. On many occasions, I've seen them flaring up over little things simply because they r in a bad mood. Black face, slam desk, talk loudly n rudely. Even amongst my peers, we have a few female TLs n 2 male TLs. The guys r those who remain cool, no matter what. The females r usually the ones who crack under pressure.

Why this topic is because my boss is trying to rid one of my staff (let's call him T) n because she's unable to manage the situation, she takes it out upon me. The latest incident happened this morning.

We have this routine one-on-one monthly coaching n review thing. Since the mgmt wants to rid T (long story spanning 10 years), there's this ultimatum given to him. But as he was not performing up to mark, he's been asked to leave. Why I'm involved is because my boss dumped T on me. Even though T n I had our differences, we managed to sort our differences n found this respect for each other.

Now problem is I get stuck in between for the top wants to rid him n he, of course, has no intention to leave. N I'm tasked with the holy duty of tracking his performance n documenting it, then putting onto paper n going through with him month after month. He will then revert with his comments n we'll close the case for the month.

Now problem today is he had reached the end of the timeline set for his ultimatum n in the last session, he was told not so indirectly by my boss to leave. So today he put all these into writing against my boss n when I showed it to her, I got hammered. #€<%*;$

Seriously, I'm not siding any party, trying to remain as neutral as possible. But there's no need to take it out on me when u cant manage that situation. Though I'm a female myself, I always try to be as level headed as possible like my male peers. N I think I'm quite successful at that for ppl always comment I appear unfazed no matter what happens.

Female bosses. Take a chill pill la. Sigh. Ridonkeylous.

Today is one of the days where I dun feel like meeting W and having some "me" time. *contented sigh*

I can't wait for this week to end. Leaving for Bangkok with E this weekend!

Mental note to myself: I must stop procrastinating n get prepared for the wedding.
1. Bridesmaid dresses
2. Bridegroom shirts
3. All the wedding decor n the guest book etc.

I think I better draw up a list n try to buy as much of it in Bangkok as possible. Slightly over 3 months to the big day n nothing is done. *gasps*

Gel nails

I share this love-hate relationship with gel nails. It's like a bad addiction. Once u do it, u gotta keep doing it so u get pretty nails. Once u stop, ur nails gets pretty ugly n brittle n it takes forever to recover. Over the years, I've been on n off this bad addiction. Last did it for bridal photoshoot n now it has outgrown, I'm trimming it off bit by bit (P.S. I'm unwilling to spend $ to get it removed professionally cos too many unprofessional salons have damaged my already damaged nails n I've still gotta pay them for it. Might as well remove myself since my nails grow out so fast).

Anyway can't wait for my nails to grow long enough n healthy again so I can try on OPI's shatter series! Only read abt black shatter but realized yest at robinson's that there's white shatter, red shatter, blue shatter n silver shatter. Not cheap though. $23+ per bottle.

Date day

It's been ages since we went on a proper date. Week after week, there's always the family obligation. Father's day, dinner with mother, blah blah blah.

Went to watch the chinese comedy, Treasure Inn, earlier. Quite funny. W always liked those slapstick lame comedies. Stephen Chow is his favourite.

Strongly recommend this steamboat place at nex called 鲜得来. Food is fresh. N there's all these nice soup base. Loved my bah kut teh soup base. His pork rib soup base was quite refreshing too. Love those one pot per person steamboat. So much more hygienic. N I love the steamboat pots. Looks real pretty.









And I found this new bubble tea place called 水研社 at nex. The tea's not too bad, though koi is better.

W saw this seiko watch earlier. I liked it too. Maybe we can get this as a couple watch? Pretty cool looking but $1150 each. Even after discount its like $880 each. Pretty pricey for seiko? Hmmm, I dunno. I'm not a watch person. But just got this thing abt having a couple watch.

The C Day

Endless food, gossiping, iPhone playing. C has been having her braces for the longest time n ever since she had them on, she simply refused to take pictures with me. After getting her iPhone, she has gotten over that barrier! Here's us cam-whoring again! Yay!







Then W came to join us for transformers. Whee~ but this man sometimes behaves like a boy. He was somewhat disappointed by the show. Okay, somewhat was an understatement. He was like sorely disappointed n sulking after that.

He went on n on abt how he read abt both the good n bad reviews n came with an "open mind" n waiting for the show to impress him (that's so MCP cos I argued if he really came with an open mind, then he wouldn't be like "impress me".)

N when I rationalized with him, he said I'm like the "general public". Much as I love him, he's sometimes quite an ass n pretty childish when it comes to shows like transformers.






Ok, now can anyone tell me how to switch off the damn bloody check in function in Facebook? It irks me to have a notification of someone checking in to some place every other hour. W n C dun get check in notifications but r still able to get notifications for fb replies n posts on their walls. I've resorted to switching off the whole alert thing.
P.S just dun really get the whole check-in-to-everywhere thing. *roll eyes*

My C

Slept at 3am last night n woke up at 8am this morning. Been struggling to get back to sleep to no avail.

Might as well get my lazy ass out of the bed n get ready to meet C!

Just received a call from hubby-to-be W to inform our yard's dog got injured. *ouch*

This silly girl has always been a tad naive n too playful for her own good.

Ah di is a sweetheart. He looks a lil ferocious but he loves attention. Too bad he needs to be chained up as he wanders off too often n gets lost. Sometimes he gets into fights n ends up with injuries too. His tail got chewed off.

Is that why ppl say, What a dog's life.
